Future
Founder Leon Kleine Staarman realized his idea of repairing electronic car parts instead of replacing them with new ones. He founded a new company soon to be called ACTRONICS, and together with a small group of experts he started experimenting with the remanufacturing of ECUs, something which was revolutionary in the automotive industry at the time.
The official start of ACTRONICS was in 2005. Right from the beginning the number of employees increased rapidly, partly due to the fact that the remanufacturing solutions for ECUs were very successful and demand was increasing fast. This also lead to an expansion of the product range to instrument panels and displays.
With ABS/ESP brake units being made mandatory for all new cars and the strong growth of safety features, the demand for repairs of brake assistance systems increased. New remanufacturing solutions for ABS ECU’s were designed and a new business unit for ABS/ESP brake unit repair was introduced.
The ACT group opened up a new establishment in Colchester, in the United Kingdom: a new chapter in the history of the company, now going truly international. The company provides remanufacturing solutions for the entire Great Britain.
In 2012 ACTRONICS reached the magical number of 100 employees. I significant milestone, just like the opening of our new headquarters in Almelo the Netherlands. A completely new designed, well-equipped factory, housing the latest technology in remanufacturing, paved the way for further future growth.
Quality has always been of paramount importance to ACTRONICS. Obtaining ISO certification was therefore a logical step. It underlines our way of working.
The award for the best ambassador in the remanufacturing industry in 2018 went to COO Thijs Jasink, who, together with CEO Leon Kleine Staarman, played an important role in the development of ACTRONICS.
In order to support our loyal customers ACTRONICS launched its service partner program. Exchange of information, provision of dedicated data to better perform pre-remanufacturing diagnosis and other benefits are part of the program to further promote and boost the choice for remanufacturing rather than buying new parts.
A true first in the remanufacturing business: ACTRONICS presented it's fully automatic remanufacturing line for ABS/ESP brake units. Features like Pick-to-Light and a computer guided process ensure a constant high quality.
With the growing demand for remanufactured items, ACTRONICS acquired a new office building opposite the existing headquarters. The new location will house the marketing & sales department, customer service, financial administration and IT department.
In line with its philosophy to delivery the best possible remanufacturing solutions, ACTRONICS designed and launched a dedicated remanufacturing line for the DSG transmission control units.
ACTRONICS continues to further develop the best possible remanufacturing solutions for the automotive industry. Against the background of CO2 reduction, digitalization, connectivity and electrification, we will further innovate and contribute to making our world more circular for those to follow in our footsteps.
